World Record Largest Online Poker Tournament

Posted under online poker & poker tournament & texas holdem

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

Is Boasting in Texas Hold’Em a Good Idea?

Posted under learning poker & poker players & poker tips

poker tips
One of the most reviled characters at the poker table most every time will continually be the boaster. You have an idea of the person I’m speaking of. He’s the guy that pulls up a chair at the no limit Texas Hold’em poker table and makes evident you’re conscious that he wants all of your Texas Hold’em Poker chips; parting the no limit Texas Hold’em poker table with the very same position that he turned up with. Even if the guy gets killed, he has the idea that he is the best poker player hands down.

While the better part of poker players would prefer to shun competition of this sort, there are others who might argue that bragging could have its advantages. So, the big question is: Is there in all reality a good poker boaster or a bad Texas Hold’em boaster? Bragging about how competent you are in no limit Texas Hold’em poker is basically just like affirming: “I’m the greatest no limit Texas Hold’em poker player on earth, make sure to play the best you can while you’re playing a poker game against me!” No doubt, that is the most awful vibe to send out playing Texas Hold’em Poker. Also, spilling too much information about your no-limit Texas Hold’em playing manner can be unfavorable to your no limit Texas Hold’em poker game. You most certainly do not want these guys to get a clue about how you play certain Texas Hold’em hands.

Furthermore there are those Texas Hold’em opponents who might utilize showing-off as a kind of no limit Texas Hold’em poker technique, or bluff. Boasting when you get a particular Texas Hold’em hand might fool your opponents and puzzle them about your Texas Hold’em playing technique. Some people might believe that this technique somewhat unethical, but it is significant to remember that there are not too any regulations against it in no limit Texas Hold’em poker. Texas Hold’em is all about making use of what you have and exploiting it to the utmost.
